2015 Porsche Macan

Porsche just introduced its second SUV at an event before the 2013 Los Angeles auto show and for the purists who already hate it, we've got one thing to say: get over it. With the Cayenne Porsche's best-seller, the 2015 Porsche Macan will help boost the automaker's bottom line so it can pay for more pet projects like the 918 Spyder. Though based on a Volkswagen platform, the Macan is full of Porsche DNA. The styling is pure Porsche, with plenty of 911 an 918 touches, as well as Cayenne traits. As expected, the Macan's interior feels both sporty, and luxurious.

Alfa Romeo has updated its 159 and given its saloon two new engines, new trim levels and a new market positioning to make it more competitive than ever.
The all-new 1,75-litre turbocharged petrol engine delivers 147 kW between 4 750 and 5 500 r/min. The maximum torque of 320 N.m is available at 1 400 r/min. It’s mated with a six-speed manual transmission that helps send this 157 from zero to 100 km/h in 7,7 seconds before it reaches a top speed of 235 km/h.
The other engine is Alfa’s proven V6 3,2-litre petrol unit. The carmaker claims that, although it’s not new to the range, the application is. Power is 191 kW and torque is 322 N.m at 4 500 r/min. This engine, teamed with a six-speed manual gearbox, is now available without the Q4 all-wheel-drive system, while the six-speed auto ‘box comes with this system.

2014 Cadillac CTS

Based on a stretched version of GM's excellent Alpha platform architecture that was introduced on the 2013 Cadillac ATS, the new CTS Sedan is some five inches longer and an inch lower than the 2013 model while adding 1.6 inches of wheelbase. Cadillac hastens to point out that those changes finally move it from "tweener" status to full-on mid-size scale. However, the most critical spec change is that the 2014 CTS also is some 250 pounds lighter than its predecessor depending on trim and will roll into showrooms later this fall weighing significantly less than any of its luxo-sedan rivals. More extensive use of aluminum - including the first all-alloy doors on any Cadillac and lightweight front structural and suspension elements  - not only helped trim total mass but also allowed CTS engineers to optimally position the remaining poundage in places that endow all versions of the car with a near 50/50 weight balance.

2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA250

Hard creases across the sheet metal cut every possible panel starting with the hood and pushed out nose to its frame-less doors and sloping roof that gives it such a unique profile. There's an elegant asymmetry to this car's lines that keeps your eye busy as you try to figure it out. There's also an optional panorama roof.
